CAMP SHAKESPEARE: Summer Theatre in the Park....FOR KIDS!!!! Open to all youth Grades 2-12 No audition necessary Monday-Friday, June 18-22 and June 25 – 29, 9:00 a.m. – noon Performance Weekend: Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1 at 2:00 p.m. “Speak the speech, I pray you, as I pronounce it to you, trippingly on the tongue.” – Hamlet, Act 3, Scene 2 Would you like to see your child perform in a Shakespeare play? With a developed and proven curriculum that makes the words and stories of William Shakespeare fun and easy to understand, students will divide into three even age groups (grade school, middle school, and high school) to work with professional Twin-Cities actors/directors to stage a short version of "A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM". Your child may play one of the magical sprites from the fairy kingdom, a comical mechanical, or one of the romantic characters of the Athenian court. During the Camp Shakespeare performance weekend (which is free and open to the public) students will perform scenes from "A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM" in the outdoor amphitheatre on the campus of Bloomington Civic Plaza. They will also participate in a special appearance by THE STRANGE CAPERS, a professional Twin-Cities Shakespeare company who will perform "A COMEDY OF ERRORS". Reserve a spot for your dramatically-inclined child today! Partial scholarships are available.
